From Marine Infantry to Creative Mentor: A Journey of Purpose
My path to becoming a creative professional wasn’t traditional, but it taught me the most valuable lesson I now share with other creatives: success comes from discipline, continuous learning, and an unwavering commitment to growth.
The Journey
My creative journey began like many others – making amateur videos and experimenting with Photoshop in high school. But it was my time as a Marine Infantry that laid the foundation for everything I would later achieve in the creative industry. The military taught me perspective, humility, and most importantly, the power of extreme perseverance – qualities that would prove invaluable in the competitive creative landscape.
After serving, I dove headfirst into media studies at the University of the Incarnate Word, where my passion for digital creativity truly ignited. Over the next decade, I built a diverse career spanning video production, graphic design, and digital marketing, working with major brands like SeaWorld, H.E.B., and Six Flags. Each role – from Content Producer to Creative Design Manager – added new layers to my understanding of what makes creative professionals and their businesses thrive.
