Websites for local service businesses

Every missed call is a job someone else just booked

I build websites for local service businesses with a lead system running behind them, so you show up when someone searches for what you do, the calls you can’t answer still get a response, and nothing sits in an inbox getting cold while the customer moves on to the next name on their list.

Why most small business websites don’t generate leads

The leads are already there. Most of them aren’t getting answered.

Most small business website design gets judged on how it looks and never on whether the phone rings, and meanwhile you spent money getting the phone to ring, whether that was through Google, your truck wrap, a yard sign, or ten years of referrals, and then the call comes in at 2pm while you’re up on a ladder or under a car and it goes to voicemail, and most people don’t leave one. They just call the next company.

CRM dashboard showing new leads, missed calls, and customer follow-up in one place

The call you couldn’t take

It rings while you’re working, it goes to voicemail, and you find out about it four hours later if you find out at all.

The form that sat there

Someone filled out your contact form Friday night, you saw it Monday morning, and by then they’d already booked with somebody who answered Saturday.

The customer who never came back

The job went great, they’d absolutely refer you, and nobody ever asked them for a review or checked in six months later.

3x missed calls a week. A $600 average job. That's roughly $7,200 a month walking to your competitors.

Run your own numbers. If your average job is bigger than that, so is the number.

And underneath all of that is the quieter one, which is the customer who searched for your service last Tuesday and never found you at all, because your site doesn’t tell Google clearly enough what you do or where you do it. You never see that one. It doesn’t show up as a missed call or an unanswered email, it just doesn’t happen.

None of that is fixed by spending more on ads, because most of these leads are already showing up or already looking for you. They’re just not getting found and they’re not getting caught.

What a lead generation website actually does

Three things that fix it

A lead generation website is really three things working together, and this is all of it in plain English, because there’s a full list further down if you want it but this is what actually matters.

01

A website that gets found, and then gives people a reason to call

Most service business websites fail in two places at the same time, because Google can’t tell what the business actually does or where it does it, and the person who does land on the page can’t find a reason to pick that company over the other four tabs they have open.

I fix both. I go through your headlines, your page structure, your service descriptions, and your meta data, and I rewrite the parts that aren’t doing any work, using the words your customers actually type into Google instead of the words your industry uses internally. Your service areas get their own real pages so you’re findable in the towns you actually serve, and your Google Business Profile gets filled out, optimized, and properly linked to the site.

And you don’t have to write any of it. If you can tell me what you do and hand me whatever you’ve already got, I’ll turn it into something that reads well, sounds like you, and is built to rank.

02

A system that catches every lead, even the ones you miss

You get a dedicated business number that forwards to your cell, so there’s no second phone to carry. When you can’t answer, an automatic text goes out within seconds asking what they need and letting them know you’ll be right with them, and that text is usually the difference between a booked job and a voicemail nobody hears.

Calls, texts, emails, form fills, webchat, and Facebook and Instagram messages all land in one inbox on your phone, so there’s one place to look instead of six.

03

Follow-up that runs whether or not you remember

New inquiries get an instant reply, leads that go quiet get a nudge a day or two later, and finished jobs trigger a review request so your Google rating builds without you having to ask anyone face to face.

You can see every lead and where it stands on one screen, so nothing depends on somebody remembering to write it down.

Automation, instant review requests and instant replies

Getting Found | Website packages
  • Custom website – Up to 8 pages, built for phones first, since that’s where most of your customers will see it.
  • Page copywriting – I write it, or rewrite what you already have, in the plain language your customers actually use.
  • On-page SEO – Titles, meta descriptions, and heading structure set up so Google can tell what you do and where you do it.
  • Service area pages – A real page for each town you work in, instead of one page that lists them all and ranks for none.
  • Google Business Profile – Filled out, optimized, and linked to your site. For a local business this often out-earns the website itself.
  • Local listing cleanup – Your name, address, and phone made consistent across the directories Google cross-checks.
  • Analytics and tracking – Google Analytics, Search Console, and conversion tracking, so you can see what’s actually working.
  • Hosting and maintenance – Hosting, SSL, backups, security, and updates handled. Nothing for you to renew or remember.

Catching every lead | All packages
  • Dedicated business number – Forwards to the cell phone you already carry. No second phone, no new habit.
  • Missed-call text back – An automatic text goes out within seconds of a call you couldn’t take, before they dial the next company.
  • Unified inbox – Calls, texts, emails, form fills, webchat, and Facebook and Instagram messages, all in one place.
  • Webchat widget – A chat box on your site that turns into a text conversation on your phone, so nobody sits waiting.
  • Smart intake forms – Asks the right questions up front so you’re not playing phone tag just to get an address.
  • Instant auto-response – Every new inquiry gets an immediate reply, whether it comes in at noon or at 11 at night.

Following up and staying organized | All packages
  • Lead dashboard and pipeline – Every lead on one screen with where it stands, so nothing depends on somebody remembering to write it down.
  • Follow-up sequences – Leads who go quiet get a nudge a day or two later, without you having to set a reminder.
  • Review request automation – Finished jobs trigger a review ask, so your Google rating builds without you asking anyone face to face.
  • Calendar and online booking – Customers book time that’s actually open on your schedule, if you decide you want that turned on.
  • Email and text campaigns – Reach your whole customer list when you’ve got a slow week or something worth promoting.
  • Estimates and invoicing – Send estimates and invoices from the same place the lead came in, instead of a separate app.
Included with every package

Mobile app set up for you and your staff · Reporting dashboard · Social media scheduler · A custom training video made for your specific setup · Direct support from me, not a ticket queue

That’s the whole toolbox, and it’s a lot on paper. Most of my clients actively use about a third of it, and on our call I’ll tell you which third matters for a business like yours so we can leave the rest switched off until you actually want it.

Local service business website case study

A painting company that went from page 8 to page 1, and what it actually took

Voted #1 Painting Company · 2026 Regional Nappie Award Winner

This is what website design for a local service business looks like a year in, including the parts most agencies leave out of the case study. Tidal Touch came to me on a Squarespace site that Google essentially ignored, with a handful of visitors a month and no real way to catch the few who did land on it. I rebuilt the site from scratch, rewrote every page around what their customers actually search for, and put the SEO essentials in place on each one, which is the same foundation work described further up this page.

Where they were after about a year

Organic Traffic Growth

8-10x Increase

in monthly website visitors, growing from a few hundred to a few thousand per month.

Search Visibility Surge

+60-80 Positions

Average ranking for key terms improved, moving from page 8-9 to page 1-3.

Consistent Lead Flow

+15-25 Leads/month

The website now generates 15-20 estimate requests per month directly through integrated forms and calls.

Branded Search Dominance

Page #1

Searching for their name now shows up on page #1 & prominently displays their website & Google Profile.

What actually produced those numbers

What I built and kept working on
  • Rebuilt the website off Squarespace and rewrote every page
  • SEO essentials on each page: structure, titles, meta, keyword targeting
  • Ongoing page optimization as we learned what was converting
  • Better forms, connected to automated follow-up
  • Text and email follow-up so inquiries get answered right away
  • Blog posts and regular Google Business Profile posts
  • A citation and directory cleanup across their local listings
  • More recently, paid ads running on top of the organic traffic
  • Provided technical and marketing guidance when they needed it
What Tidal Touch did

  • Showed up and did excellent work, job after job
  • Posted their own work on social on a regular basis
  • Answered the leads that came in
  • Stuck with it for a year instead of quitting at month three
  • Reminded their customers for reviews and referrals consistently
  • Got listed with their city chamber of commerce and others
  • Did their own direct outreach and networking around town

Some of this showed up fast and some of it compounded, and it’s worth separating the two.

First few weeks

New site live, traffic climbing off the rebuild, and text and email follow-up running so inquiry process improves.

Following months

Rankings moving as the new pages gained traction, with estimate requests coming through phone and forms.

About a year in

Page 1, 8–10x the traffic, and voted the #1 painting company in their area.

The website and the foundation are the fast part, usually a few weeks, and that’s what made everything after it possible, because before the rebuild there was nowhere for any of their effort to land and no way to catch the people who did manage to find them. They had a site that represented the business properly and a follow-up system that helped.

Search is the part that compounds. Rankings move over months rather than weeks, and if somebody tells you they’ll have you on page 1 in thirty days they’re either guessing or lying. And to be straight about it, Tidal Touch getting voted #1 painting company in their area came from doing excellent work and taking care of their customers. What I did was make sure their online presence finally matched the quality of their work.

Tidal Touch Owner - Nate P

“We hired Chris for ongoing website and lead support and he’s been consistent and reliable. He’s helped us clean up our process, improve visibility, and keep leads moving each month. 10/10 experience.”

Adding a small business CRM without changing how you work

You don’t have to change how you run your business

Most owners hear “CRM” and picture a week of setup, a login they’ll forget, and one more thing to stay on top of. You’ve already got a way of running the shop, maybe a whiteboard and a notebook, maybe a scheduling tool your office manager likes, maybe something you paid for two years ago and half use, and the last thing you need is somebody telling you to throw it out and learn software.

The whole point of this is to take work off your plate. If it isn’t saving you time and cutting down on what you’re holding in your head within the first few weeks, then something is set up wrong and I’ll fix it.

So I build it around how you already work instead of the other way around. We start with the piece that’s costing you the most money, which is almost always the missed-call text back and the shared inbox, and you run just that for a few weeks until it feels normal. If you want the pipeline after that, we turn on the pipeline. If you never want the booking calendar, we never turn on the booking calendar. Everything is available to you and nothing gets forced on you.

And you’re not figuring any of it out on your own. I set it up, I walk you and whoever answers your phone through it on a call, and you get a training video made for your specific setup so nobody has to remember what I said three weeks later. When something needs adjusting a month in, you text me and I adjust it. What gets switched on is whatever is going to help your shop where it sits right now, and as you grow into more of it, the rest is already there waiting on you instead of being one more thing you have to go buy and set up.

The website design process, start to launch

How this actually goes

Simple process, clear steps, and no tech headaches, so you save time, avoid expensive mistakes, and get your website running without worry.

  • 1

Free lead leak audit – The website design process starts before you pay anything, so you tell me your business name and where you’re at. I record a 10-minute video walking through your site, your Google profile, and where inquiries are getting lost. No call required, nothing to pay.

  • 2

A 20-minute call – We talk through what I found, I tell you which package fits or whether you need one at all, and you get a straight answer on timeline and cost. If we’re not a fit I’ll say so on the call.

  • 3

I build it – Research, design, copy, SEO, and every piece of the technical setup, and you’ll see progress along the way so there are no surprises at the end. Most builds go live in two to four weeks.

  • 4

Launch and training – Your site goes live, your system goes on, and you get a walkthrough video and guidance made for your specific setup so you and your staff know exactly how to use it. Then I’m still here.

Find out where
your business is losing leads

Tell me your business name and I’ll record a video showing what people actually find when they look you up, where inquiries are getting lost, and who’s showing up ahead of you. If you’ve got a website I’ll walk through that too, and if you don’t have one yet, that’s fine. I’ll send it over within a couple of business days. It’s free, there’s nothing to schedule, and if you want to take the list and fix it yourself, that’s a completely fine outcome. I’m here to help.

Not Convinced It’s Worth It? Deposit Back Guaranteed.
If after I deliver your website and business system, and you genuinely don’t believe it’s going to help you grow, I’ll refund your setup deposit. Simple as that. I’m betting on the value of what I build because I’ve seen what it does for businesses like yours.

Frequently Asked Questions

I know handing over your website feels like a big step. Here’s the honest truth about how this works, what to expect, and what happens next.

You get a confirmation email. Then I personally review your info and follow up within 1–2 business days. We’ll hop on a quick call, confirm fit, and if it’s a go, I send you the agreement and we get to work.

Nope. Start with what you have. Missing copy, photos, or a logo? Normal. Package 1 includes content formatting and polish. Package 2 includes full copy rewriting—we write it, you approve it.

Most sites launch in 2–4 weeks. The biggest variable is how fast you review things on your end. Got a hard deadline? Tell us in the form and we’ll figure it out.

Yes. Your WordPress site is yours. No lock-in. If you ever leave, you can take the site with you (and I can help with a clean transfer if needed).

Both packages are month-to-month, 30 days notice. Want to keep the site but stop the monthly? We can set up basic hosting-only. Want to leave entirely? We’ll package a backup and help you transfer. You’re never stuck.

Website Foundation gets you a professional WordPress site with hosting and support handled. Website + Lead System adds the full business tools layer: CRM dashboard, missed-call text back, webchat, review automation, follow-up sequences, unified inbox, and a dedicated phone number. Package 1 is a great front door. Package 2 is the front door plus the system that makes sure nobody who knocks ever gets ignored.

Perfect. We can upgrade, redesign, improve speed, fix structure, improve lead capture, or rebuild on WordPress if you want more control. I’ll review what you have and recommend the fastest path.

Absolutely. That’s exactly how it’s designed. We’ll add the lead system tools right on top of your existing site. No rebuild needed.

Google isn’t a light switch. What I do is build the foundation so Google can understand what you do and where you do it—which is the best possible setup for ranking over time. Package 2 includes Google Business Profile optimization for even stronger local visibility. For faster results, check out our SEO strategy for your business, and ads are available as an add-on.

That’s what the monthly plan is for. Every package includes ongoing care so you’re not stuck troubleshooting tech.

You’ll review it during the build and we’ll refine based on feedback. The goal is no surprises at the end, you’ll see progress as we go.

Hosting + website care are included.
If you already own a domain, we’ll connect it. If you don’t, I’ll point you to the easiest option and help you set it up. Business email (you@yourbusiness.com) is available as an add-on if you want it.

No charge to inquire. Once we confirm fit, you get a simple agreement and your setup invoice. Payment plans are available. Monthly billing starts after launch.

Still have a question I didn’t answer?

Just ask. I’m happy to give you a straight answer — even if it means pointing you elsewhere.
